My faithful laptop decided to give up writing on Friday. I am trying to create on this desktop, which is admittedly much nicer than my laptop was... faster, and a much larger screen, but... it just isn't the same. The bright side, and I always look for one, is that I'm going to be getting a new laptop as soon as I can figure out exactly what I want and what software I want to load on it. Since I spend so much of my time on the computer, I want something that is pretty special since I will be using it for some time. It's kind of like that special chair that fits... I want a new laptop that fits me... I will probably work this into a story somewhere.... Have a happy Sunday, and Happy Reading, Joannie

An Unlikely Story

Today I am editing An Unlikely Story by Amity Maree. It will be making an appearance on Blushing Books soon. Here is a sample...

“Oh my gosh! You don’t look like you…!” Addy declared, and then blushed furiously! “I’m sorry, that was so rude, but… I’m flustered right now!” She was sitting on Vince Cantrell’s lap, wearing nothing but a blanket! How many women would give anything to be in her position…! And he’d spanked her! Literally spanked her! She was looking at him in awe, and it was easy to picture him without the beard… and with the short hair he normally wore in films and on television! “Do you realize that you’ve been reported missing? The entertainment shows are speculating that you committed suicide…” she put a hand over her mouth. “I’m sorry! I’m blathering because I’m amazed to be in the same room with someone so famous… and not to recognize you! I’m not normally so dimwitted!” She wasn’t… but Alex’s death had taken its toll on her, and she was barely muddling through each day. “I’m so sorry about your twin brother… Alex and I heard the reports on the news, and we both were shocked that someone would…” she swallowed hard, and made herself continue… “And then it happened to us.” Addy’s face crumpled and she shook her head sadly. “It hurts so much!”

Vince had to agree that losing his twin hurt, and worse was living with the guilt of knowing the bullet was meant for him!!! But, even more puzzling was this young reporter, sitting in front of him and denying that she was there to get an interview from him, and claiming that she’d been set up and someone was trying to kill her, just like they had her own twin.

An Interview on Blushing Books Blog

I was flattered to be asked to give an interview for Blushing Books Blog. I hope you are all getting into the spirit of the holidays and are doing all things possible to eliminate holiday stress.

Happy Reading,
Joannie

An Update

My goodness, I cannot believe it has been so long since I posted. There is one Western called "Do You Want a Spanking" about a young bride who is so desperate to get her husband's attention that she goes after a band of rustlers by herself. When she discovers that her husband's idea of a spanking is far worse than anything she ever considered, she wants to run away... but he holds firm, and she is extremely repentant by the time he wears out a couple of switches on her bare bottom.

There are also a couple of stories in which the bottom being spanked didn't deserve a spanking!!! I've just finished posting two stories on my Lulu store.

The first is called A NEW YEAR... A NEW BEGINNING, and is a Rebecca Jacobs story. Laney is shocked when she finds her husband Ian standing in her Antique Store. She left Ian a year before when it was obvious to her that his music career was more important to him than she was. She hated the spankings he gave her for everything. She wanted his love and attention, but not the kind of attention that ended with a sore bottom for her. Ian has spent a year trying to find his Laney, and now that he has found her, he wants a chance to plead his case and find out why she left him. He has found success in his career, but without Laney at his side, it means nothing at all. He is going to convince her of that, even if it means turning her over his knee for a good spanking!

The second story is called AN UNRULY TONGUE and is by Abigail Webster. I originally wrote this story several years ago, but readers have told me it was difficult to read with all the 'thees and thous'. I have rewritten the entire story, used 'you and your', and it is now much easier to read... In the year 1701, the Elders ruled the community, and a young bride with an unruly tongue could be sentenced to a week long punishment, which is what Hester has earned. Her husband Caleb is a man of his word, and he is determined that his young wife never again be called before the Elders for censure. He promises to see her regret her childish behavior many times over during the long week, and since Hester is so modest, he decides to punish her sexually as well as spanking her several times daily. Hester is ashamed of her unruly tongue, and tries hard to please her husband by accepting his punishments, even though it is most difficult. If you are a fan of my sweeter romances, then perhaps this Abigail Webster is not for you... An Unruly Tongue is definitely one of my more intense punishment stories.

Hope you all have a Happy Valentines' Day!

Happy Reading,

Joannie

MARRIAGE BY PROXY

I just posted Marriage By Proxy on my Lulu site. This story is a bit 'different', even for Abigail Webster... and I'll be the first to admit that it might not be for all readers. Yes, there is plenty of spanking... but the year is 1840 and Richard Greenwood is convinced his new bride needs to be returned to the nursery to grow up and learn to behave as a proper young lady should behave. He is shocked and disapproves of her wild behavior while her Mama was too ill to take notice... and his offers to step in and deal with her were refused by her doting Mama who couldn't bear the thought of her daughter being spanked! Now, Pamela has no say whatsoever in her life. She is married by proxy to Richard, and when she fails to behave as she should, Richard's instructions are followed to the letter, and the pretty blonde finds herself put in the nursery and given a governess...! If that isn't shocking enough, when Richard returns and she appelas to him to be reasonable, he spanks her... and continues to spank her for her outrageous behavior... in spite of her threats.

A bit different... but I guarantee a happy ending.

Happy Reading,
Joannie

Happy New Year Everyone

Happy New Year to ALL. It's been a while since I've posted... a lot going on here at home... but things are settling down now, and I hope to get some serious writing done over the next few weeks.

I just posted a couple new stories on Lulu... one is a Thanksgiving story about a young wife who buys TV Dinners to serve her husband's family for Thanksgiving Dinner!!! Of course, he was not impressed... And we all know that means a spanking... or several...

The other story I posted is actually one that I finished up recently, but started a long time ago. My hubby was teasing me, and I picked up a flyswatter and chased him with it. Well, we all know how that ended... Me getting a spanking with a flyswatter! WEG All in fun, of course... And my imagination said 'what if'... and the result is Matt & Cynthia...

I am working on a New Year's story for Spanking Romance, which should be published soon. And I just finished up a story called The Intruder on Bethany's Woodshed. I'm currently working on several other stories there as well.

So, what is planned? I am hoping to finish a story by Susan Joseph very soon and publish it solely on Lulu. It touches my heart in many ways. Those of you who have read a lot of my work know that I have a great fondness for 'elderly' people, and this story not only tells a current love story, but also the love stories of a beloved great-aunt through her diaries. I honestly can't wait to share it with you all. Please keep watching for news of its release.

I wish you all a Blessed and Happy New Year.

Happy Reading,
Joannie

Bethany's Update Blog

Hi all... Just wanted to let you know that Bethany has a new Update Blog in which she will feature Authors' new work. It's a good way for us all to keep up with the writer's we enjoy most and to learn about new stories on the different sites Bethany owns.

I currently have two Halloween Stories for you to read. The first part is featured on Spanking Romance and is called The Haunted House. The second part in featured this week on Bethany's Woodshed and is called Scaring the Pants Off Halloween. I hope you enjoy both of these.

I also posted a couple of new stories on Lulu, and I'm working on a cute western for the next Spanking Romance update on Tuesday.

I'm also going to be working on Christmas Stories.... I had a reader ask me to continue a story I wrote last year, and since I've not been able to get those 'people' out of my mind since then, I am going to continue the story of Dal and Jenny... It will be a Christmas present for me, too!

As always, I love to hear from you.

Happy Reading,
Joannie

Two New Books on Lulu

Hi All, it has been a busy couple of months for me, but I wanted to take the time to let you all know that I have posted two more stories to my Lulu site.

Help Me, Please! is the story of two people who meet as neighbors and learn they have a lot to offer each other. The only problem, Hannah has an abusive past and is frightened when Jack threatens to spank her if she endangers her life again! They have to overcome her fears... and deal with the abusive father who comes to take her home!

The Contest pits two designers with a past in a contest at the local mall. Dandy positively hates John... As many of you already know, Abigail writes my harsher punishment books... and this is no exception.

Jessica used money from their special savings account without discussing it with Richard... An opportunity came up for Richard to get the perfect lake house they'd been saving for, and when he went to get the money, there wasn't enough for the cash downpayment his co-worker was asking for. Richard was angry, and made the comment to Jessie that he ought to punish her as she deserved. It upset her to realize he was so disappointed, and so upset with her... and, two weeks later, when Richard showed no sign of getting past his anger, she went to him and asked for punishment. He told her to be very sure, and when she gave her consent, he informed her that her punishment would last an entire weekend... from after work on Friday until before work on Monday... and that she would be spanked repeatedly, made to write lines and stand in the corner. Jessie was upset, but knew that it was deserved. When she learns that she will be sexually punished as well, she feels like running away. She was an admitted prude, and she refused to be naked in front of her husband at any time...

If you like a story that is a bit harsher in the discipline area, and incorporates sexual situations, then I'm sure you'll enjoy A FIRST PUNISHMENT. I was looking through some old folders the other day and realized that I hadn't published these!!! I decided to put them together in a collection for you to enjoy. All are contemporary, but written with a sense of humor. Some are touching, some are just a giggle, but the one thing they all have in common is a lady with a red bottom. I hope you enjoy reading this one.

Joannie

The Lost Wager

Goodmorning. The Grandkids are here, and woke Gramma bright and early on a Saturday morning. lol I was up very late last night, posting a brand new book on Lulu. This is a western called The Lost Wager. I originally wrote part of the first chapter for a contest on Woodshed, but Bethany chose not to do that particular contest... I decided to go ahead and finish the book myself!! After all, I couldn't very well leave Gilly in such a predicament! She purposely lost a bet to Jesse, in which the forfeit was 'one hour of her time doing anything Jesse wanted to do'. Gilly assumed Jesse wanted to make love to her, and she just knew that if they made love, he would offer marriage. Jesse had other plans for that hour, however... a damn good spanking. I hope you enjoy this one...

Happy Reading,
Joannie

A New Book

I posted a new book on Lulu last evening called A Family Matter by Susan Joseph. Susan writes from a moral and more of a Christian DD aspect,,, and her work is void of any swearing (Unless it is swiftly punished, because it is NOT acceptable in CDD...). As a writer, I am always interested in family relationships, what makes them work, and what causes the conflcts that occur. In this story, Abby's sister-in-law ,Jill, is constantly getting Abby in trouble with her husband, Jill's brother. Even Abby and Peter's children think Aunt Jill is 'mean', and little Macy thinks that Jill needs a spanking! I hope you will enjoy this story; it was interesting to write.

Coming soon... Another Susan Joseph, but a long story that has been nearly a year in the writing.... A western by Laurel Joseph... AND, for those of you who like the edgier stories with harsher punishment, an Abigail Webster story called "The First Punishment". I'll be sure to let you know when I add more to my Lulu site.

As always, if you have favorites and would like to see a sequel, or have suggestions for a story, please write to me and let me know. I love hearing from my readers.

Happy Reading,
Joannie

Two More Books Posted on Lulu

Hi everyone. I wanted to let y'all know that I posted two more short novels on my Lulu site.

The first is by Dara Ames, Still a Brat! Lainy thinks the fun has gone out of her marriage, and that she is boring. She doesn't want to lose her husband, so she purposely sets out to prove she can still be a brat by turning her lawyer husband's business luncheon into a child's birthday party, complete with hotdogs and a clown making balloon animals.

The second book, The Attic, is by Susan Joseph. Neither Polly nor Micah wants a divorce, but theirs is almost final when they get together for the weekend to clean out the attic in their old home. They find a diary that was written by Micah's great-great grandmother... and Polly quickly finds herself over Micah's knee for a spanking that should have been given years before.

While you all know that I do so love to write my westerns, I also love to write about women and men in our world today who face the challenges that go along with having a very traditional marriage when it isn't exactly PC to do so. I hope you enjoy both of these stories...

Happy Reading,
Joannie

Lots Going On

Goodmorning. I've been very busy lately with my writing! This month there are five Thursdays, and Bethany asked me to pick up the story for the fifth update on Woodshed. I am working on a Joanne Locker 'thriller' called Disobedient Witness. I am hoping that if any US Marshals read this story they will smile and forgive the license I am taking with their jobs... I do respect them and all they do, but Marshal Mac is a spanker, and his way of handling a disobedient client is to set her bottom on fire. WEG Prudence doesn't like the name he chooses for her, or the apartment he puts her in, or the small town... but she's already gone through three other Marshals, and Mac thinks she needs a firm hand...

I am also working on two stories for my Lulu site. With my daughter's recent health issues (She is MUCH better now, thank God.), I haven't had time to do much more than keep up with my update material for Woodshed and Spanking Romance. That is changing, however, and I'm up to speed with my time to write again. I'll post more right here when I make additions to the site. I hope you will continue to browse, and if you have any ideas for sequels, or for stories that YOU would like to read, do not hesitate to drop me an email and say hello and let me know what you would like.

Joannie

New Story

I posted a new story on my Lulu site called Mara's Consequence. I just finished posting The Right Time on my Lulu Site. It is a time travel novel taking Olivia Palmer and Quinn Spencer back to the Old West. Quinn and Livvy barely tolerate each other, and the sparks still fly when they find themselves in a situation they cannot believe. Quinn takes a job as Sheriff, vowing he will protect Livvy and keep her from knowing what life on the streets is like. He'd thought those days in the past, thanks to Livvy's father, Clete, but he knew he would be all right. It was protecting the impossible Livvy that presented the problem, and she wasn't about to let him get away with pretending to be her husband!

Liv saves Quinn's life a couple of times, but the darn man is so old-fashioned that his idea of saying 'thank you' is to turn her over his knee and spank! The one thing Olivia enjoys about her new life is teaching school. If only Quinn felt the same feelings for her that she did for him, her life could be perfect.

I hope you enjoy this novel. Please send me a note or make a post to tell me what you think. Would you like more time travel novels???

Happy Reading,
Joannie

Spank Books

Hi there. I wanted to let all of you know that some of my older stories, like Thrall Bride, are now available on a new site called Spank Books. I hope you will go and take a look, esepcially those of you who just found my work in the last couple of years. I am going to be writing a sequel to Unwilling Bride for Woodshed, and for those of you who haven't read that story, you might want to get a copy before reading Unwilling Groom, the story of one of Bri's brothers.

I'm almost ready to post a brand new time travel novel on Joannie Writes on Lulu... I will let you know when it is up, hopefully in the next day or two. Olivia will capture your heart, and Quinn... what can I say? I have been in contact with them, but everytime I checked, I could only see page one of my site, and I have, at this moment, four pages of books listed there!!! This has been frustrating for me because I knew that no one could see the things I posted earlier, and I was hesitant to post anything new until the problem was fixed.

I finally reached a lovely person by the name of Rosemary, and she knew immediately what I needed to do to fix it myself, so I have a bit of a new look now. I transferred everything to a new 'theme' and now all four pages are showing!!! Yippeeeee!!! I will be adding some more stories this week, maybe even today. I feel energized again, and want to thank all of you for your patience while I sorted this. If I'd known the 'fix' was so simple I would have done it weeks ago!

Also, I want to thank all of you who patronize my site and buy my stories. I told my little grandson yesterday that while I wanted to be a nurse, writing was my DREAM! Thanks to all of you that dream is my reality and I can't think of a better career to have.

love,
Joannie

DARCY

YES!!! DARCY is finished, and available on my Lulu Store. This book is twenty chapters long, plus the Prologue and Epilogue, for those of you who like longer books. It is, of course, a Romance story, with a Time Travel twist... and suspenseful as well. Librarian Darcy Riordan is pretty mouthy, and not afraid to speak up... but her attitude doesn't go over well in the small town where she is filling in for the regular librarian. When Darcy learns that the town's barber keeps pornographic magazines in his barbershop, she rallies the mothers and grandmothers, and forces the beloved barber to remove the magazines from his shop. He is very insulted, and his upset with Darcy leads to her death. When she awakes she finds herself living in the year 1870, and gradually comes to believe that God gave her a second chance at life because she was desperately needed by Clinton Collier and his son, Brady. Clinton isn't sure what to make of Darcy, except the fact that she needs a damn good spanking to help her learn to control her sassy mouth.

Darcy has a bad guy, too... and he is determined to make Clinton's life as miserable as possible, but Darcy isn't about to let that happen, and shocks Clinton when she takes up for him every chance she gets... in spite of all his threats to spank her pretty backside.

I hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Joannie

NEW Name the Paddle Contest

This is the latest creation by John of Leather Thorn Paddles. I posted two stories on my Lulu Storefront today. Both are westerns, and very different from each other.

The first is one of my older works, Finding Samantha. JT is furious when he learns the detective he hired to find his runaway little sister is a woman. A feisty, sassy woman. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am redesigning my website to reflect all of the changes I'm made in my work lately. Part of my site is gone, but what remains is very current. I put a link there to my Joannie Writes Storefront on Lulu, and I also put a different story in the Free Story Area. This one will not be up very long, so if you wish to read it, please do so soon. I am working on a new Christmas Story, and hope to be posting it by the 15th of this month. I've also posted a couple of new items on Lulu... one of which is a short Christmas Story. I will also be posting a few more Christmas items during the month.

Hope you are all enjoying this time of year and staying ahead of the hustle and bustle.

I also want to mention that there is still time to get your entry in for the Name the Paddle Contest on the Leather Thorn Paddles site. It's a Susan Joseph story, and is mild and sweet in nature. I'm also working on another Susan Joseph story, and it is turning out to be one of my all time favorites... I'll tell you more about it when it is all finished, but it tells two complete stories in one... one through a diary, and one in the present.

I'm also busy with my usual Christmas Stories. Please tell me which of these you would like to see next:

Sequel to 'Wooden Box'-- 'Katy's Story'

The third book in the 'Innocence' Series - 'Bartering Innocence'...

Sequel to 'Unwilling Bride' -- Bridget's Brothers meet their match...

Thanks for your input, and believe me, your vote does count with me.

Joannie

New Store on LULU

Goodmorning. I have been very busy formatting a few stories and opening a store on LULU. What is LULU? It is a place to order books in actual book form. If you are like me, and sometimes want an actual copy of a book you can take with you when you travel, or have to sit and wait in the doctor's office, Lulu books are wonderful. The covers I will be using are innocent... no bare bottoms or paddles that you might not feel comfortable taking out of your home. Most are very generic and perfect to take anywhere. I do OBVIOUSLY need to spruce up on HTML and make my site prettier... WEG, but it is servicable and you are more than welcome to go and take a look. I will be adding more stories as I get them formatted for LULU. It does take a lot of work to do that, so please be patient. If you have a particular favorite that you are anxious to see in printed book form, please let me know and I will put it on the do ASAP list.

Hope you are all having a nice weekend. Hard to believe that summer is over, but I have to admit, I am ready for cooler temperatures. I know those words are shocking to those who know me best, but yes, I am serious. We had a wonderful time, and I'll be posting the highlights on my personal blog if you are interested in reading.

On the work side of things, I've just finished catching up on my reading on Spanking Romance and on Bethany's Woodshed. There are a LOT of good stories on both right now.

I've started a new one in the weekly stories called A Plan of Perfection. It's different... sort of a combination Fantasy/Time Travel/Historical. If you haven't checked it out yet, please do.

On my store, I am working hard to ready more material for purchase. If you haven't read Last Chance yet, I will brag a bit and tell you that I'm getting a lot of positive feedback and requests for me to continue the story. I am going to turn my attention to this as soon as possible.

In the meantime, I am keeping up with all my stories on Woodshed, and writing another one for Spanking Romance.

Happy Reading,
Joannie (So many stories, not enough time!)

It's all Jade's Fault! LOL

A dear friend of mine has opened her own website/store, and it looked so neat and nice that I had go and redo the look on my webpages (Not my store. I'm happy with it until I add another story or two... within a couple weeks, since I will be on vacation this coming week...) I'm thinking of adding a couple of new features to my site, and I might get to that later today.

Jade's Alanson's new site, Squeek-by Graphics, has a bit of everything. I can say I've read most of her work and I do enjoy it all. Those of us into spanking are going to enjoy the Brady Stories, and that goes without saying. The Brady's are a family of spankos who believe in DD. The women are spirited and feisty, and the men... well, they give you that certain feeling in the pit of your tummy! LOLOLOL The other books on the site are great, too. I hope you will go and take a look.

I'm updating and readying a novel for my store called To Find My Love. It is a time travel/western, with a twist. This is one I wouldn't dare offer on Bethany's... but more about that later. WEG

I currently have several stories on Woodshed, and my newest one is sort of a time travel/science fiction/historical.... Hazel is picked out of all the women who live on Earth in the year 2050 as the most impossible. Her co-workers pray she will not return from her vacation, and the gods decide she will be perfect to teach one of their own a lesson. Damien has been stripped of his powers and forced to make a life for himself and Hazel in the year 1698 America. His "A Plan of Perfection" is simple... If men are the head of their households and enforce the rules of the house with a good spanking, then the world would be a happier place. He wants the Council of gods to support his theory and incorporate domestic discipline into the world again. Hazel, of course, isn't too keen on the idea.

Handpicked for Jazzy is featured on Spanking Romance right now, and of course I am working on another story for that site. So many stories, not enough time!

Hope you are all having a wonderful summer. I find it hard to believe that school is starting up again. Some of the schools in our area started the first week of August!!! My grandson starts pre-kindergarten this Tuesday! It will be a good time for all of us to catch up on our reading!

Joannie

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://joanniekaywritesaboutwriting.blogspot.com/2007/08/its-all-jades-fault-lol.html' title='It's all Jade's Fault! One is a two part story called Shocking, and is the story of two couples who add DD to their marriages to help them deal with issues that are causing problems. The second is a series called New Panties Collection. These are five short stories that tell of Peter and Jane. Peter sends Jane to the Mall to buy new panties when she is to be spanked, and Jane is mortified when he instructs her to tell whoever waits on her that she is to wear the new panties because she is being punished. Even more surprising is to learn that the lady who owns the exclusive lingerie store is also a spanked wife! If you haven't checked out my new site yet, please do. I will be adding things regularly, and a lot of it is longer material... full length novels.

On the Woodshed front, I am still working on my continuing stories there, and will be featuring a weekly story soon. It is the story of a woman named Hazel, who, to put it plainly, is such a witch her co-workers pray she will not return from vacation. She is selected by the committe of gods to put Damien in his place. Zeus, and even Damien's own brother, Oran, are convinced that Damien's plan to make the human world a happier place is silly and will not work. They strip Damien of his godly powers and place him in the Puritan era and give him Hazel to make into a happy, obedient, pleasing woman.

I've had a couple of stories on Spanking Romance lately, and am currently working on a couple of others. One is called Handpicked for Jazzy, and when Jazzy finds out that her father handpicked Luther for her husband, she is furious and runs away. Unbeknownst to James, his headstrong daughter and Luther fell in love and were secretly married... Now Luther has the job of convincing his wife that he knew nothing of James' plan for them to fall in love.

I'm also going to be giving my website a new look. For some time now I've had readers asking me for longer stories like Hiding Miss Peaches, so I opened my own store! There is only one story offered at this time, but I promise there are many more to come. A lot of us wish and long for the romance novels we used to buy and devour with the strong hero who would at the very least threaten to spank!!! My heroes do a lot of threatening, but they also carry out those threats once in a while.

LAST CHANCE is the first book offered on my site. It is a very long western... twenty chapters in all, and I originally wrote this story about twenty years ago! I fell in love with Samantha, Cort, Melanie, and Philip then, and I still love them. Samantha decides to run away from home rather than marry the man her Uncle chooses for her. She's all dressed up as a boy at her cousin Melanie's suggestion, and when she saves Cort's life, he mistakes her for a runaway kid. By the time Uncle Franklin catches up, Cort has spent several days and nights with the 'kid'. Franklin gives Sam an ultimatum... Marry Cort or marry Carson Edwards (The bad guy...) Sam's not dumb... She chooses Cort, of course, and proceeds to dump their wedding cake all over him after he announces he is taking her away to live in a small tackroom in the barn on his property. The second story in the book deals with Melanie and Philip. Melanie is one unhappy woman, married to a man she considers a milquetoast... but Philip has a deep, dark secret he is trying to keep hidden.

I hope you'll go and take a peek at the first chapter of Last Chance. I hope you love these characters as much as I do.

Joannie

What's New

Goodmorning... I didn't realize it had been so long since I posted here. I've had several stories published on Spanking Romance.... and a few chapters to stories added on Woodshed. Bethany published my TOO OLD FOR THIS on Romantic Spankings... and I hope you all will enjoy it.

My big news... I'm working on a rewrite of my very first western, and I will be publishing it on my website when it is all finished. LAST CHANCE is a really long book... Twenty Chapters! It is one of my favorites, and tells the stories of Cort and Samantha, and Phillip and Melanie. I'll share more later.

We took a trip on a Canal Boat with friends of ours a week ago, and I spent a lot of the time on the boat taking notes and I can't wait to put my imagination to work writing a story to reflect this period of Ohio History in a romantic setting... with spankings, of course. I promised our friend Bob that there would be at least one spanking given over the rudder on top of the boat. WEG

Happy Reading,
Joannie

An Idea...

As most of you know, my husband and I live a DD lifestyle by choice. I sincerely believe in this lifestyle, and while I say that DD saved our marriage, it is actually the increased communication and the efforts of two people who truly love each other and are willing to do the work it takes to make a marriage work well that saved this marriage, and those of many other couples I know. Almost all of my writing reflects those beliefs, but one thing has come to my attention lately... The couples portrayed in my stories do not seem to have some of the same frustrations and problems with DD that we all face on a day to day basis. I think that portraying 'Perfect DD' all the time tends to make couples feel that perhaps they alone are the ones not getting it 'right'. Not so. Stories are just that... stories. They are meant to entertain and are fantasy.

A couple of my readers have asked me to write a story or two in which DD isn't perfect, and to show how a couple can work through these issues... I'm going to give it a shot and see if I can write something from this perspective that will still be entertaining and make people smile and laugh... perhaps cry a bit, too.

Hope you have a great day, and will keep sharing your thoughts with me... either here, or in email.

Joannie

New Stories...

Goodmorning. Another whole month has gone by since I posted here! I get so busy writing that I forget I need to come on here and let you know what I am working on.

Actually, I've been very busy... If you belong to Bethany's Woodshed and know all of my pen names, you'll see that I have a brand new story by 'Paige Mallory' called Peace and Harmony! It is a time travel romance, and I really love writing these because my imagination can soar.

I completed my series on the Callahan Brothers by 'Susan Joseph'. I Take Thee Matthew... Mark... Luke... and John, should all be available soon on Romantic Spankings before much longer. Bethany is developing a line of 'Christian, or morality based, lighter' stories since she has a large request for those. I am working on a new story by this same pen name to fit in this line called Someone to Watch Over Me. It tells two stories in one, and is definitely one of the sweetest things I've written to date. (Yes, I am sentimental and mooshy, and darn proud of it! LOL) When it is finished, it will probably be posted on Romantic Spankings first.

Also, I have a new western, one not posted on Woodshed or Spanking Romance. It's called Too Old For This, and Bobby Jo is forced to marry KC McGraw because her grown sons walk in on a situation they completely misunderstand. KC is convinced the young men knew darn well and good that he was spanking their mother, not seducing her, but if it finally puts the love of his life in his bed, then he sure isn't about to complain!

Bethany asked me to write the special story for the 'fifth' Thursday in May for Woodshed, and 'Laurel Joseph' wrote a western entitled Jinx. There will be more of Jinx and Blade later... Jinx is definitely a daredevil of a brat in need of lots of spankings. WEG Please let me know what you think of this story and if you'd like to read more.

The Judges are also busy reading the entries submitted for the writing contest on Woodshed. No news to report yet!!! Some of the entries are very good, and it has been a lot of fun to read them all and see all the different ways the stories could be developed.

That is just the tip of things. I will have to post a bit more often so I don't have to write a book each and every time I do! I'm also plotting Katy's Story, the continuation of The Wooden Box. WEG Several of my ideas are kind of fun, but need to pick one and go with it... Time to Spruce Up a Bit...

Goodmorning! I am finally taking the time to add some links here to make it easier for everyone to find something they like. And, I linked my other blog to this one... Ooops... I guess I should link from here to that blog as well... I'll tend to that shortly.

The latest in writing news... Bethany finally published Too Old For This on Romantic Spankings. This is a western featuring an older couple who were in love many years ago and is full of spankings and surprises. It is basically a tender love story and a bit mooshy at times, but I hope you like it. (Of course the sons have wives, too, and of course, they need spanking, too!)

I am currently working on another chapter of Pirate's Revenge, and plotting out Katy's Story, which will continue the story begun in The Wooden Box.

You will also find Snips, Snails, and Puppy Dog Tails on Romantic Spankings. This book finishes the story begun in Sugar and Spice, and Everything Nice.

Hope you all have a great weekend. And, Please don't forget about the contest on Bethany's Woodshed. There are four stories just begging to be finished, and I can't wait to read your entry. If you've never tried writing before, or said you couldn't come up with an idea, this is the contest for you. The stories are all started, just begging for you to let your imagination run wild.

Joannie

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://joanniekaywritesaboutwriting.blogspot.com/2007/04/aha-time-to-spruce-up-bit.html' title='Aha!!!! As you can see I chose to open a new 'writer's blog'. I like the formatting here much better, and hope it will be easier for you to comment than before.

Currently I'm working on a couple of new stories. My 'brat' tendencies are coming out in a story called Foul Play... Julia is giving Carson a very rough time, and I'm sure he won't put up with it long before he decides to take the lovely widow over his knee and spank her. WEG

I Take Thee Luke was posted on Spanking Romance a couple of weeks ago, and the fourth book in the series about the Callahan brothers is all ready to go. I Take Thee John is the final book in the series... and of course, the brothers all make an appearance in this final story. It was a lot of fun to write, and I'll admit to a few tears at seeing it end.

For those of you who enjoyed The Wooden Box... I am also working on Katy's story...

Please take a moment to drop me a note. The more comments I get, the more I promise to post here.

Joannie
